Dhaulagiri Circuit trek 2017
Considered one of the best and most challenging treks the circuit of Dhaulagiri via French Pass and the Hidden Valley starts at Darbang or Dharapani (now that a road has been built) not too far from the town of Beni and finishes at Marpha and Jomsom in the Kali Gandaki valley.
The proximity of
8167m Dhaulagiri is supposed to attract very changeable weather and this can make the route quite challenging at times. We went in November, well after the monsoon finished, and had very good November weather with only one light snowfall at Japanese Camp so all in all the trek was quite easy for experienced walkers. Bear in mind that a number of walking days are on the glacier so the walking can get a bit tiring and would be far more difficult in snowy conditions.
