On the way from Panding to Bikbari. A steep descent (before a steep ascent and another steep descent). We are still getting nice views of Koktang and Ratong.

Our camp in Bikbari with Ratong, Kabru and Kabru Dome.
The prestigious Himalayan Mountaineering Institute has a training "base camp" located only 90 minutes away at Chaurikhang (4400m) just by the Ratong Glacier. I walked up in the afternoon to visit their facilities and watch a group of (mainly Indian) students being trained in arresting techniques on a grass slope before they went over to practice in 'real life' on the glacier.

Leaving the valley en route to Dzongri. Again with beautiful views of Koktang, Ratong and Kabru and the Dome.

Sunset from camp in Dzongri. I think that the mountain in the background is Pandim (6691m).

Sunrise from a view point above Dzongri. You get wonderful views of Kangchenjunga

From the same view point with my camera pointed a little to the left (south). In the front a small mountain called Black Kabur (apparently it is a holy mountain for the inhabitants of Yuksom) whilst behind you can see Kabru (note the small spelling difference but one is 2500m higher than the other) as well as Kabru Dome.
